creating design solutions for small businesses

Instead of creating flashy designs, I want to create solutions that work for businesses.

I don’t want to create something to get myself an award as a graphic designer – and most of your clients won’t care about that anyways. I want to create something that will bring you clients. Sometimes that’s an award-winning piece, most of the time… it’s something much more approachable.

The whole process was quick and easy. I got What I wanted out of a website quicker than I expected and I was able to ask questions after the process was done.

Before falling in love with, and pursuing, graphic design, I studied philosophy at Kansas State University in Manhattan, KS. It was challenging. I loved it.

In my final semester at KSU I became interested in what the combination of art, psychology, and philosophy offered.

I became fascinated that art could be used as a visual way to solve problems. I continue to find this fascinating and exhilarating. Solving a problem can be a challenge, but solving a problem in a new way, in a way that stretches one’s ideas and abilities is exciting – especially when a solution fits within a client’s restrictions.

I’ve spent the last 7+ years working for, and with, various small businesses, nonprofits, and design & marketing agencies. Those experiences allow me understand many of the unique challenges that come with running a small business.

My aim is to create solutions that fit within a business’ personality, structural availabilities, and budget. Not only do I find joy in this… but when a business wins, we win – as a community that succeeds together.

Things I love (that aren’t design): my daughters, coffee, bikes, music, mountains, photography.
