Bluestem Bistro is a staple in the Manhattan, KS community. It has become a go-to spot for “townies” and students alike – whether for a morning coffee, Sunday brunch, or a snack from the bakery before tailgating on game day.

I’ve worked with Bluestem Bistro for several years on various projects. 

When their sister restaurant, Bluestem Grille, opened a couple of years ago I was asked if I could revamp the primary logo so that each business location could have cohesive branding. The primary goal was to give the new logos a clean aesthetic with an element of sophistication.

Along with the logo work, they wanted to create a new set of handheld menus and a new setup for their large menu (posted above the register). At this time the storefront was being remodeled and they wanted to showcase some of the business’ personality. The backdrop behind the register and coffee bar was an idea from Phyllis Pease, a local artist.
